Self-Scouting My Blog

Professional sports teams often assign one of their own advance scouts to observe themselves, to gain the same insight into their tendencies, strengths and weaknesses that their opponents’ scouts are gaining. (Isn’t it glorious how we complicate the simplest games?)

March 29th will be the one year anniversary of this Adventurer Conqueror King System blog, and that seems like an excellent opportunity to do a little self-scouting of my own.

These are my top 15 posts ranked by total number of times viewed. Not an ideal measure, but it’s the only data I have. I am wary of posting too many new classes, but it is rewarding that new class posts are frequently viewed (and I hope useful in actual play). Still, the next year may see fewer new classes than the past year. It is also rewarding to see my Tinmen race frequently viewed. I will be rounding them out over the next year, such that an all Tinmen party (or Judge’s strike team) will be a possibility. Finally, it’s a little surprising that my first (and currently only) Into the Vaults post makes it into the top 15. That post also seems to draw an audience broader than Adventurer Conqueror King System fans. I have two more Into the Vaults drafts I’d like to post.

I began this blog to share the things I create for my personal games and to hone my writing skills. (I’m still trying to avoid becoming a web developer, although some of that seems unavoidable.) I’m pleased to be approaching the one year anniversary of my blog, and I have my fingers crossed for the next year.

Although my focus is my personal games, it can be interesting and challenging to hear what others are looking for. Also, I want to do everything I can to help create an active and engaging Adventurer Conqueror King System community. In that spirit, what would you like to see on my blog?

  1. I don't know that I'm all that picky. I just like reading the ACKS stuff, whatever it may be.

Plus I'm in your PbP game so it's always good to get some insight from the man behind the DM screen...
